Me: sometimes I feel like all this time has gone by in just the blink of an eye and all of a sudden you're turning 6.
E: Yeah I think it would be a lot better if you were born on a leap year (ie Feb 29), because then those kids would have so much longer to get older. To turn 12. Or 24. Or 48.
[later, he tells me he has been counting by 12s in his head before he goes to bed so he can surprise us in the morning and pretend that he's figuring it out on the spot.]
